The David Fletcher Memorial Fund exists to provide support for young double bass players on the cusp of their professional careers. It is open to bassists aged 21-28 who are resident in the UK.
David Fletcher (1971-2009) was a virtuosic professional double bass player with a huge personality. Despite his short life he inspired countless people with his musical talent and his wonderful joie de vivre. Read David’s Obituary here, and a Tribute to David here.
David was passionate about encouraging, teaching and supporting young players, and this fund aims to continue that very worthy cause.
